SAAS
Software as a service (SaaS) is a channel of delivering applications over the Internet as a service. In place of installing and maintaining software, you access it simply via the Internet, making yourself free from complex hardware and software management. SaaS is a new faster way of distributing software in which vendors or service providers like Visacent, in place of selling it to companies, make these things available to customers over the internet, using cloud-computing technology. So in place of companies installing software in their own servers, software providers host the
software at theirs and just invoice them according to the time they spent using it, or a monthly fee. SaaS becomes popular day by day, and as the industry develops, huge amount of companies are dropping older business models in favour of this new technology.
Some advantages of the SaaS model are that it is easier to administrate, all users will have the same version of the software because patch management and updates will be done automatically, and therefore collaboration will be easier.
